Reasons Email Marketing is Important
Email marketing is an important business tool, but many business owners don’t bother with it.
That’s a huge mistake.
Let me tell you why I believe email marketing is vital for your business.
Always keep your ACE
One of the top reasons to use email marketing is to help keep your “ACE” – or authentic consistent engagement – with your customers.
Relationship building should be a priority. Make a habit of sending your customers regular emails with a personal touch.
For instance, I went from using a template-type email to creating messages that were more like letters to my customers. Making it more personal made it more authentic, and I saw an increase in click-through rates after a two-month period.
Establish yourself as a leader or expert
Email marketing also is a great way to showcase your skills and expertise to others. Write an ebook, or a short report, on a hot topic in your field. Then share it freely with your current customers.
I’m a social media strategist so I wrote and shared an ebook titled “6 Types of Content to Mix Into Your Social Media Strategy,” which is valuable information for my subscribers.
Turn prospects into customers
Not only will your current customers find value in helpful resources like an ebook, but the right free offer can attract new customers (and sales) to your list, too!
After you’ve shared an informational resource with your current subscribers, offer it as a free download to new people who subscribe to your email list and watch your customer base grow.
The statistics don’t lie
Building relationships, gaining new customers and positioning yourself as an industry expert are three compelling reasons to start email marketing. But if you’re still on the fence, let’s look at some numbers.
Consider that in 2013, there were more than 3.5 billion email accounts, according to The Radicati Group.
And Merkle – a customer relationship marketing agency – reports that 74 percent of consumers prefer to receive commercial communications via email.
On top of that, 66 percent of consumers have made a purchase online as a result of an email marketing message, according to Direct Marketing Association.
These kinds of statistics shouldn’t be ignored. Email is a powerful marketing tool that’s important for your business.
