Upon reading a fellow VA’s blog, I saw she had talked about her “3 words” for this year. I sent her a message asking her how she came up with the idea. She sent me to Chris Brogan’s blog. I read his story behind his 3 words idea and thought what a great idea. Basically it is how he sets his focus and his goals for the year. On his blog you can see all the years he has been doing this. I thought “ok, I can do that”. So here are mine:
I picked these three: Grow, Expand and Bat.
Grow because I really want my business to grow and blossom this year. I am looking at things I want do really well and learning more.
Expand because in order to grow my business I will need to expand my knowledge of a few things. The theory is if you think you know all there is to know about something, you have not really learned it.
And last I chose the word “Bat” from the British use of the word.
Noun: British Slang. speed; rate of motion or progress, esp. the pace of the stroke or step of a race.
Chris said that the words don’t have to mean anything to you. If you would like to do this type of goal-setting, let me know what words you used. I think it is interesting to see what 3 words help others set their goals and will help them to focus. And go over to Chris‘ sit and read his blog.
